The Norwich Energy Committee charge (approved by the Selectboard 6-27-18):
Make recommendations to the Selectboard regarding Town policy on energy-related matters. The NEC works with residents, businesses and the Town to promote energy education and awareness, reduce energy consumption, improve the efficiency of energy used, promote renewable energy generation, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on both an absolute and per capita basis. In FY21 (July 2020 – June 2021) the NEC concluded the Save 20% in ’20, campaign which was designed to encourage reductions in household emissions and to highlight a range of effective climate actions and their interconnections. This campaign was promoted through the NEC web site, listserv posts, yarn bombs and knitted scarves, printed literature, collaborations with the Congregational Church and the Norwich Nursery School, and the Norwich Parade.
