“We are new to the area, and purchased our home about a year ago. We had initially looked into solar but did not have a really viable site. Then we realized that instead of decreasing our electricy use, we really wanted to decrease our use of oil. The Heat Squad came and did an audit and their recommendation was to improve our insulation. There was an addition put on the house about 10 years ago and the foundation had not been insulated. With help from The Heat Squad, we were able to come up with an affordable plan: spray insulation around the new addition crawl space in the basement, and put foam board over existing insulation in the eaves. All the work was done over two days. We will need to live through the winter to see how it affects our use of oil, but The Heat Squad estimates a reduction in our oil bill. ”
