Vermont and New Hampshire have some of the oldest housing stock in the nation, which means many residents suffer high heating bills and can still barely keep their homes warm— an issue that is particularly urgent for low income residents and seniors.
To help with this problem, the Norwich Energy Committee and Sustainable Hanover are collaborating to make custom-built, attractive, interior storm window inserts for Norwich and Hanover residents.
Once participants sign up for inserts, trained (and vaccinated) volunteers schedule a time to measure their windows for the custom-built inserts. Then participants and other community volunteers gather to build the inserts. The construction process accommodates participants with a wide range of ability and mobility levels, making it an accessible and fun community event.
