In 2011, Vermont adopted a goal for the state of having 90 percent of all statewide energy come from renewable sources by the year 2050. Click for a two-page summary. What would Norwich's contribution look like? Here’s a rough plan from 2012 for the town to meet that target: Norwich 90% Energy Plan. The official Norwich Town Plan, developed by the Planning Commission with extensive input from town committees and residents and approved by the Selectboard, has a thorough Energy chapter. An initial greenhouse gas inventory, developed by resident Eva Rosenbloom as part of her graduate coursework, provides a good orientation to the scale of emissions from municipal operations. |
